What is this site?
This site is meant to have a double nature: from one side it’s my personal showcase of Yuu Yuu Hakusho geek-ness, and in particular HieixMukuro crazy love, from the other side it’s a place where I wish people who like Hiei and Mukuro as a couple would hang out and show their own works about them and Yuu Yuu Hakusho in general :)

What does "Unmei no Kizuna" mean?
It means "Bonds of Destiny". I've chosen this name because I think that Hiei and Mukuro were destined to each other ;) To say it a la Yuko Ichihara, "There's no fortuity, there's only the Inevitable" XD (Yuko is the witch in the xxxHolic series XD) Hiei and Mukuro just had to be tied to each other. X3

Why a site about Hiei and Mukuro?
Because I love them. Plain and simple! ^_-
At the time I first opened this site in 2003 (still on Geocities! D: nightmare~~~) there was only a little number of sites on the western side of the world that supported this pairing. All the rest was yaoi madness and a few other alternative pairings. Of these few supporting sites, just a couple of them were really dedicated to the HiMuku pairing itself, and they were little and mostly in languages other than English. I was sad that the couple I liked so much was so unsupported. On the other hand, there was a nice number of sites supporting HieixMukuro in Japan, and those sites gave me the idea to start out with this project. -

A definitive NO if you want to give us site layouts, banners and buttons done with pictures that aren’t yours. NO.
I also don’t accept doujinshi (fan-manga) scans, whether translated or not, unless you drew the doujinshi yourself. There’s a protected place in the forum to share doujinshi scans, so you can head there if you’re interested in showing your newly bought doujinshi or the doujin scans you have translated. If you have a doujinshi scanlation site, we might link-exchange, but having doujinshi scans here is beyond this site purpose.

What happened to the fanfic contest of the old site and the last kiriban hits?
As for what concerns the contest, I've lost the entries due to the hacking and formatting chaos in my hard disk. BTW, the partecipation was LOW. I got only two entries, and I was waiting to have at least 3, but it never came (then the site collapsed). I'm sorry for those two people who entered. :( If you were one of the two that entered, I can make you a small picture. ^^
About the kiriban pics... for the same reasons as above, I don't know anymore what I was supposed to draw AND to whom. I can still do it if you want ^^; just ask.

Is HieixMukuro an official/canon couple?
Actually, no.
The series itself don't give any explicit proof of them to be involved in a romantic relationship, but we think that this relationship is hinted in many ways.
Rumors tell that Yoshihiro Togashi wanted them to be together, and was turned down from this idea by the editor's pressure, concerned by the possible fans' bad reactions to this choice. In fact, when Mukuro appeared, HieixKurama was already the most popular couple in the whole Yu Yu Hakusho fandom, and taking a definitive position about this subject would have disappointed the huge fanbase: that's why everything is left vague.
Of course, these are rumors, and that means they don't rely on any official source. In my view, it's a pretty much plausible thing, but there are no proofs of this.
That said, the vagueness of the whole matter lets us believe what we want, and see things as we want them to be. There's really no real truth behind all this matter, unless one day Togashi-sama wakes up and decides to tell the whole world how things were meant to be.
To me, HieixMukuro is the closest thing to a canon couple between non-canons. You can read the Evidences page to see what makes me think so. That doesn't mean that everyone should think like I do.

I heard Hiei and Mukuro are related, so they can't be a couple.
I don't have idea of where this came from, anyway, it's not true at all. O.o They aren't blood related at all, it isn't written nor said anywhere in the series. There are many fans who like to think their relationship is mother/son-like, or brother/sister-like, but, of course, they aren't talking about blood relationship, they're talking about a spiritual/affective one.
I guess some fanfic writer has made them related, and some reader has mistaken it for the truth. Be careful when you read fanfictions, many times they contain wrong informations (sometimes because of ignorance, sometimes because they got deliberately twisted as a plot device.)

Do you hate yaoi?
No, I only hate HieixKurama, but I respect people that like it if they respect that I like other pairings. :) [emphatic speech] I dream a world where everyone can like every couple they prefer without being bashed by supporters of other couples. T^T [/emphatic speech]. Also, I keep my HiKura hate away from the managing of this site, so if you want me to put up your HiKura fancomics or pictures, go ahead, I won't bite you... :) I promise! XD
For the rest, I'm a moderated yaoi fan and, as you can see by yourself, there are yaoi pictures in the YuuHaku gallery. I'm mostly a HieixYuusuke fan, and I have a little own parallel world where they are together and do xxx and xxx all the time XDD I don't consider it to be something real though. ^^;
